Who cares wins - It is time for Board members, CEOs and shareholders to step up!

Investors and entrepreneurs who work with my company Pure Air Today, Europe’s first broker for clean air tech already know that clean air is good business.

Customers will soon expect clean air in buildings, just as we expect clean water from our taps. If your business doesn't offer it, then they will spend their money with a business that does.

I recently visited a very well-known High Street Opticians in the UK who ‘care for your sight and hearing.’

I double-masked and took my mini air purifier with me.

I was greeted by unmasked coughing staff! And coughed up £35 for the privilege.

I insisted on waiting outside until I was called into a tiny room with no available power supply for my purifier.

The opticians I visited are part of a multi-billion-pound business.

The store was undergoing a refit with new carpets and new consulting rooms. But not a penny was spent on cleaning the air.

Perhaps, people like me are part of the problem.

As consumers, we must demand clean air in buildings, just as we expect clean water from our taps.

Businesses need to up their game.

It’s no good producing glossy brochures telling staff and customers how much you value them, when faced with airborne pathogens, the only mitigations on offer are hand sanitiser and plastic screens!

With the cold and flu season approaching, and the likelihood of another Covid variant just around the corner, it is not too late to act.

Airborne pathogens and respiratory infections, whether seasonal influenza or COVID-19, are treatable problems.

This issue needs to be treated as a strategic business risk.

Millions of UK workers are debilitated by Long Covid, the cost to them and the businesses they work in is immense.

The technology is available to protect staff and customers today, safeguarding them against unnecessary suffering and economic losses.

It is time for Board members, CEOs and shareholders to step up! Clean air is good business.
